As of December 18, 2017, all truck drivers who maintain records of duty status (RODS) will be required to install standardized electronic logging devises (ELDs) in their vehicles to accurately track driver data, per the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). While ELDs will capture more data to help companies better manage drivers and their businesses overall, it won’t provide a complete view.
