The 2019 Malware Report reveals the latest malware security trends, challenges, and investment priorities. Key findings include:
• Malware and ransomware is still one of the most destructive security threats
affecting organizations of all sizes, from SMBs to large enterprises and
government agencies. Eighty-six percent of respondents perceive them either as
an extreme threat (49%) or moderate threat (37%).
• Seven out of 10 organizations believe malware and ransomware will become a
larger threat to their organizations in the next 12 months.
• 76% consider a malware attack in the next 12 months moderately to extremely
likely. However, 55% of organizations are not confident in their ability to detect
and block an attack.
• 54% consider phishing emails the most dangerous attack vector, followed by
trojans with 13%.
• The most significant business impact of malware attacks is the resulting
productivity loss (58%) and system downtime (50%).
• Organizations prioritize user awareness training (75%) and anti-malware solutions
(74%) as most effective in preventing malware attacks.
