Blue Medora Changes Tack With New SELECTStar Performance Management for the Data Tier
SELECTStar will support more databases than any other data monitoring tool on the market.
IT operations platforms have progressed rapidly over the past few years, but few of them have the level of data visibility across the whole stack to take full advantage of them. Blue Medora has been extending the capabilities of various cloud systems management and Application Performance Management (APM) tools for some time through its True Visibility Suite, a family of plug-ins and agents that reach into the data tier. Now it’s looking to take things a stage further with a complete platform of its own. SELECTStar is billed as ‘APM for the data tier,’ and represents a major shift in strategy for the company. With a cloud-native SaaS delivery model, it will support more databases than any other data monitoring tool on the market, claims Blue Medora. The move could put it into competition with some of its current partners. SELECTStar is due in October.
